“Sunlight sparkling on the cut glass of a Random Pieces window reminds me of the glorious feeling of light dancing on the water”.   

For many years I pursued woodworking as a hobby and spent many hours restoring antiques and building reproductions for my own home. On several occasions, I found wonderful old windows and converted them into mirrors. I however, became truly hooked on old windows, when I started to create art by combining the old windows with the “glass on glass mosaic” style of glassworks.  I am constantly delighted with the wonderful combinations of light and colour which have become the canvas for my expression.

The Glassworks team consists of Laura Cole, artist, and Eileen Braidwood, business manager.  Together as a team we create art and run a small home based business in Charlottetown. The Random Pieces Glassworks and Woodworks studio was established in 2004 in the community of Pinette, PEI. In 2009, the studio moved to Charlottetown, and is now located at 39 Highland Avenue. We renovated our home, and added a wonderful studio space in the attic of the house.  With the addition of new windows and skylights, the space has become a bright and sunny room ideal for the creation of glass art. In addition to creating my own artwork here, I also offers workshops where I share my love of glass with a wide variety of students, both young and old, experienced and novice.
